Hello

I still have the TV. As I said, the TV was made to be used in USA and it comes with 18 months of warranty.
I have attached some pics with the TV to this e-mail. I am now in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
Since I can't meet you and make the exchange, I would like to use a service that will help us with that:

www.tnt.com/tnt.express.wolverhampton.depot/third_party_service.html

TNT is a worldwide delivery company (like Fedex, DHL or UPS). You can see from their procedure that you will be able to check the TV before I receive the payment. If you are in a hurry, I will use 2 days delivery (on my expense).

Let me know what you think.

Best Regards,
Susan

Let me get this straight.....

1. I sent the email inquiring about the TV listed LOCALLY!!!! on Craigslist, but it turns out it is in the UK? FAIL!
2. You want me to use a shipping service no one in the US has heard of before? FAIL!
3. I will pay you only AFTER i have received the TV that is keyed and working only to be used in the UK and not the US? FAIL!

1 + 2 + 3 = SCAM = FAIL!

Thanks for wasting my time! I hate you!

I have always had a great admiration for him and after reading this great interview from GQ magazine, with him, I completely stand behind that statement again. If you can, I would highly recommend reading the online interview they have, with some great insight into what he has been through and what he envisions for the future of our country.

My life seems to be pretty crazy. I am constantly talking about a new project here or a new idea that'll "change the world" or a book concept or whatever. Problem is, I am constantly writing out these ideas and spawning off other ideas from those ideas.

So the question is, how do you manage multiple projects with limited time available each day without putting one project to the side and never returning to it?

In comes GTD or Getting Things Done. Not necessarily a new concept but one that has been getting a lot of attention lately, as many people, like myself, seem to be getting overwhelmed by the amount of work needed to complete their tasks.
A simple search on Google reveals hundreds of GTD software, books and blogs. Google Search on Getting Things Done. While most of them are great sources of inspiration and a great guide on how to manage your projects, I find most of them trying to be more than is necessary and sometimes quite a bit overwhelming at times for what I need.

I have come up with a simpler way that I think will work well for me, Divide and Conquer. The main principles are this:

1. List out all projects: I put all my projects into a list. I wrote them all out on paper, in my dedicated project notebook, as well as, put them out on a very simple GTD online application called TadaList from 37 Signals(more on this later).

2. Prioritize the projects: When I wrote them out in notebook I put a priority (in order of importance) number beside each project. For example, getting one of my business concepts, business plan going is a huge priority for me, so I put a number 1 next to it.

3. Assign a day to it: Put a day of the week next to each project and priority. Leave one day free, for example Sunday. Sunday, for me is reserved for things like, bbq, homework (ie: household chore list), and/or football. Whatever "free" day of the week you chose, it should be a day when you don't have to think about any project at all and can just relax and go brain dead if possible.

3a. Assignment rules for project days: Assigning the project to a day is simple. On that day of the week I am allowed to work on that project and that project ALONE! No other projects will come into play or get worked on while I am working on that particular project. I am allowed to essentially "forget", the other projects and just focus on one. If my mind does wander, then I put the thought down in TadaList or in my project notebook and get right back to the project at hand.

4. Test-drive the week with the assignments: It was necessary to "test-drive" the project week layout for a week first. Some re-ordering was necessary as I was spending more time on one project on a given day and not enough on another on a different day. So I re-ordered my list around till each project felt right for each given day and time. On some recurring days of the week I just don't have enough time to work on some projects, so I give those days to the lower priority projects.

After the project was written out on the good day I had assigned to it, I added the project to it's own dedicated set of pages in the project notebook (about 5-10 pages). Then I listed out as much as I could think at the time, about that project and the direction I wanted to take. Since I was only focusing on one particular project that day, I was able to brainstorm on as much as possible just for that project.

4a. Detail out the Project list on TadaList: TadaList is a great online tool. It's extremely simple, fast, FREE, and works with most, if not all, mobile devices with an internet connection. You simply put in a project header and then add things to the project. So as I am going through my test-drive week, as I think of items I just jump online (or on my cellphone if I am out) and add an item to the project list, or I would pull them from the notebook and add them to project header. Oh yea, its FREE, did I mention that? It can be used for other things outside of the projects that I have scheduled. For example, I have a list for each room in my house that needs work done. Like painting or cleaning a closet or putting up shelfs or pull bushes outside or whatever.

4b. Remind yourself everyday: I signed up for a service from PingMe which sends you a text message to your phone whenever you schedule one, it's just another good simple GTD application that sends reminders that you setup for a given time and day, to your phone. For example, I scheduled one for each of my projects and then I have it send me a message (a few times a day sometimes) to remind me to work on that project. Sometimes I just have it send a message with the project info and a specific task that I need to work on for that project, even further focusing my thoughts on it. And best of all, its free right now while it is in Beta test. Again, this could be used for a host of other things outside of the projects that I am working on.

5. Come out the gate running: Once I had worked out the details and test-drove the projects for a trial week, it was time to hit it and hit it hard. All my focus was on the project that I had designated for that day, in my case I started on Monday. This was of course, after I had already done my "real" paying job, each and every work day.

I'll update here as I get through a few more weeks like this.

I was at Barnes and Noble the other day looking for a few books, see 7 Day Detox and Death by Powerpoint; and was walking up to the register when I saw a table full of books with a sale sign above it. Tons of great reprints like stuff and periods from Sun Tu's Art of War to Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment (one of my favorite books/author).
The books are printed on this great, almost parchment type of paper that just begs you to pick it up and feel it. I started flipping through one I haven't read in a minute. Arguably one of the best english translated poems of it's time about the Danes, in particularly, Beowulf. The story in and of itself is great. It pulls you in from the start and holds you tightly, till you absolutely have to put it down and get back to work cause your lunch break was over 20 minutes ago.

Definitely an intense read with its graphic visuals it presents and engrossing storyline. Plus the fact that it really is a very short story, it can be read in less than three days if you can't get to it one sitting. Not to mention the fact that it was on sale for $7 and with my Barnes and Noble membership card, it actually came out to just on the other side of $5. Can't complain about that.

All said and done this is a book that EVERY GUY SHOULD READ!!!! Granted, yes, chicks can read it too but come on...this is a manly book with lots of testosterone through and through and little estrogen in it.

I have tried to be pretty addiment about getting into shape. I drink lots of water, otherwise jokingly known as "The Water Diet" among my family; take my multivitamin, some essential oils (fish and flaxseed) and about 1000mg of Vitamin C everyday (when I can remember to that is).
I have also started to take a very heavy cardio/strength program(s) as part of the Krav Maga program to try and shed some poundage if at all possible. Some time ago a lady I was working with said she was on 30 day Detox plan and it sort of stuck with me in the back of my head as to what that entails and what it does. So I finally broke down the other day and swung by Barnes and Noble to find more information Detoxing. All that I have read so far from both the book and reading about it online, is that my diet will be completely restricted to a very VERY tiny list of acceptable foods and fluids.

A few weeks back I went into the doctor to have her give me the ok (yes "her", as in a female doctor, how does that work? Can I ask manly questions to her? I have found out it is a little awkward to do so. sigh). We did the measurements and a full checkup and then she had me run some blood samples and a few days later I got the thumbs up. Great I thought.

I started the diet. The first part of it being, only water and lemon for the first two days. Thats it! I don't think I would of had a problem had I not worked out with the trainer that morning first. Needless to say I was dead that day. No energy to do a single thing! I actually had to go out to the car, in 100+ weather and take a nap! Crazy. You never know how much food works to give you energy till you do something like that.

Long story short, I haven't had the balls to try out the detox again yet. Hopefully soon i'll work up the nerve again or at least do the first couple of days of the diet over a weekend where I can be home to crash out when I need to.

Well, as I have yet to get through this I can't comment on it too much yet. I have read many reviews on this and picked it up as soon as I was able to. The main thrust of the book deals with office workers (like yours truly) and how to deal with the everyday annoyances (cube mates and managers anyone?) that accompany any good cubicle resident. The first couple chapters that I have gotten through are definitely funny and so true it almost seemed like he sat in my cube and wrote about what he saw. Pick it up if you can. Now while I haven't actually read this book. This is the basis for the "Water Diet" that I joke about with my family. My dad told me about this about a year ago and I have tried to stick to the pricipales of it since he told me......
For the most part if you really think about it, our body is comprised of about 70% water (I think that is what the consensus is or close to it). Ironically that is also right about the percentage of water on planet earth. Coincidence? Probably not, mother nature provides similarities between us humans and her, sometimes so blatently obvious that we have grown blind to the signs. Anyway, back to the subject. Since our bodies are mostly water if we are constantly cycling water through the body, then all organs, muscle, tissue, etc... are being renewed with pure fresh water and not using what your body has to pull in from other sources, like juice or soda, then your body will be healthier and will be able to fight off diseases and colds better. My dad says that the book recommends approx half your body weight in fluid ounces of water every day. So if my weight is 220lbs and I split that in half and use fluid ounces, then I would have to drink in about 120 fluid ounces of water a day. Sounds like a ton of water to be freakin drinking every day. Actually its pretty easy to get it in before dinner time. Here is my schedule that I do every day and I find that it is easy to get in all of my water.

6AM - Wake up, grab a 24oz propel and slam it down before I even step foot in the shower.
8-9AM - Have a 20oz bottle of water and a small OJ with my breakfast
10AM - Work on my first 1 liter bottle and polish it off before lunchtime (1 liter = 33 oz)
Lunch - Usually have some fresh lemonade or fresh brewed ice tea (2 large glasses of that add up to about 20 oz of water)
2PM - Work on my second 1 liter bottle and nail it down before 4PM
5-6PM - Have a 20oz bottle after i have some milk at dinner.
After that I completely stop drinking if I can help it. Otherwise I am up ALL night hitting the bathroom.

Total: 120-140oz water

Couple of things to note about this.
1. Yes, your probably saying, well, Propel is not water. True to an extent, Propel is water that has sugar and flavoring added to it. I drink Propel in the morning for two reasons. The first is, my trainer told me last year to have Propel in the morning because it has just enough sugar in it that it helps "open" up your cells and make them more receptive to both exercise and helping to get you going in the morning, as well as the sugar gives you a very minimal boost in energy in the morning without having any sugar crash that typically happens a few hours later. Secondly for some reason, I get really thirsty about an hour or two after drinking a Propel and need to drink *drumroll please* water to satisfy it.
2. My dad said the book recommends having about a total of a teaspoon of salt spreadout thru out the day so that you don't loose all that water due to going to the bathroom. The salt is supposed to aid in the retaining of the water. I don't due this just due to the fact that in today's society we get more than enough salt and sodium in our normal eating habits that I don't want to add any more than I already get. Plus my blood pressure is just below borderline, and by just below, I mean, it is borderline and I was told by the doc last year to cut back on my salt anyway.

I don't think I need to mention about the bathroom thing at all. Let's just say when you are doing this, that you will be going about every 20-30mins like clockwork. Which isn't necessarily all that bad, because it really keeps you awake.

This is pretty much my first foray into the blogging scene, other than commenting on other peoples blogs.
I have a few articles and things that I have written up in my travels that I thought was interesting and wanted to share so I plan on posting those up over the next few days and weeks.
